Simone's love for gymnastics first began when she was just six years old after a visit with her day-care group to Bannon Gymnastix. Simone remained in the hands of Aimee Borman as coach from 2011. Biles was a winner in the floor and vault exercises at the women's Junior Olympic National Championships before moving up to the top competition levels in the year 2011. In just two short years, she was the top athlete in her field. Biles stood out by her consistent performance, her enthusiastic attitude as well as the amount of difficulty that she included throughout each competition--vault bar, uneven bars, balance beam and ground work.
